Can An Existing Client Receive An Email If They Are On The Suppression List?

It is rare but possible for someone on the suppression list to still receive an email and make a purchase. We always validate that an email is not on the suppression list before sending, but in some cases, we may identify a shopper using an alternate email address.

For example, we might send an email to their personal address, but they complete the purchase using their suppressed work email. Since suppressions apply to specific email addresses, they do not fully prevent a person from engaging with our emails through a different address.

What Is The Difference Between An Identity And An Email Address?

The difference between an identity and an email address is that a customer has one identity but can have multiple email addresses, such as a personal and a business email. Suppressions apply at the email level, not the identity level.
